Kompasbank is a Danish neobank offering savings accounts and loans to SMEs. Its savings accounts are offered free of charge, providing both fixed and flexible interest rates. However, there are minimum and maximum deposits of DKK 100,000 (~USD 14,500) and DKK 3 million (~USD 435,000), respectively, when opening the account.
It also offers tailored financing to SMEs between DKK 500,000 (~USD 72,500) and DKK 25 million (~USD 3.6 million). Kompasbank sends business advisors to its customers to understand their requirements and claims to issue loans within 48 hours of identifying those needs.
In addition, Kompasbank also offers a digital marketplace (Kompasbank Navigator) for SMEs to obtain services such as human resources , sales and marketing, risk management, administration, and finance.
Funding and financials
The company raised DKK 92 million (~USD 13.4 million) in Series B funding round that closed in December 2022. It had planned to use the funds to strengthen its customer relationships and expand its services. Additionally, it raised a further USD 9.3 million as a Series B extension.
In 2023, Kompasbank’s net income rose to DKK 51.4 million (~USD 7.49 million), marking a significant increase of 314.8% compared with the previous year. However, the company reported a loss of DKK 111.5 million (~USD 16.25 million) for the year, which was an increase of DKK 73.9 million (~USD 10.7 million) from the previous year’s loss.
