Novobeing (formerly Rocket VR), is a health tech company that specializes in stress management reduction and self-care via the use of immersive meditations in VR. These include coaching on breathing technique, animations to time a user’s breath duration, and calming environments and music. Furthermore, the company uses evidence-based breathing techniques for its meditation experiences and proven cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) treatment protocols for its self-care games and well-being programs.

Novobeing also offers interactive group classes for meditation, led by experts to help users retain their meditation habits. For enterprises, the company offers “Novobeing for Healthcare,” which offers a suite of solutions (immersive meditations, educational modules, and CBT modules) for stress reduction in patients currently hospitalized or awaiting medical procedures.

As of January 2024, the company’s roadmap outlined plans to introduce 40 VR wellbeing modules, a mobile app for progress tracking, live sessions for up to a 100 users, and real-time heart rate analysis, among other features.

The company’s platform is accessible via Meta Quest devices and the Pico Neo 3 headset and generates revenue via an annual subscription, priced at USD 100.

Key customers and partnerships

As of January 2024, the company’s app had been downloaded over 500 times on SideQuest.

Notable partnerships included that with immersive travel applications developer BrinkXR to exclusively feature BrinkXR's photorealistic environments of natural surroundings within its XR patient experience platform (August 2024). Other partnerships included Massachusetts General Hospital to conduct clinical trials, Harvard University, the University of Calgary, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Funding and financials

In February 2024, the company secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Impact Assets, an impact investor overseen by the Harvard Business School Investment for Impact program. Funds were earmarked to accelerate product development, aiding the firm in expanding its reach and influence.
