Mirthy is a platform that allows over-55s to host and participate in social activities online. This includes activities such as piano concerts, fitness classes, cooking lessons, etc. As of August 2021, Mirthy had a user base of 35,000 and expects to grow this number by over 150,000 by August 2022. The company’s long-term goal is to become the go-to platform for all social, physical, and financial needs of the aging population.
Mirthy raised GBP 800,000 (USD 1.1 million) in a pre-seed funding round led by Ascension’s ‘Fair By Design’ fund in August 2021. The round also included the participation of Ada Ventures, Redrice Ventures, and True. The fresh funds are expected to be allocated to support its geographic expansion, product development, and hiring across marketing, product, and sales teams. As part of its product development, Mirthy intends to launch a subscription-based monetization model and other community features by October 2021.
