Sustain.Life is a SaaS platform that allows companies to measure, manage and report their environmental emissions. The company’s carbon calculator and ESG management software analyzes sustainability metrics across 12 impact areas, including energy, water, waste, office and business travel and commuting. The company’s user interface is less complex and removes complicated technology barriers, allowing any user to quickly pick up the tool and learn easily.

In June 2024, Sustain.Life was acquired by Workiva, a cloud-based integrated reporting platform, to create a comprehensive solution for carbon accounting, decarbonization, ESG disclosure, financial reporting, and assurance.

Key customers and partnerships

In February 2022, Sustain.Life partnered with Avetta, a supply chain risk management provider, allowing Avetta’s 125,000+ suppliers access Sustain.Life’s ESG platform to measure supplier emissions. In April 2023, the company collaborated with Wipfli, an accounting and advisory firm to offer ESG and carbon accounting services. Sustain.Life and ELEKS, a software engineering provider entered into a strategic partnership to offer a range of carbon accounting tools for the latter’s clients in May 2023. This collaboration was followed by the company’s alliance with Planet6, an Australian cloud-based sustainability service provider in June 2023, to allow the latter’s clients to conduct sustainable business practices.

In November 2023, the company integrated with Cloverly, an API-based, B2B carbon offsetting solution, to purchase carbon credits. During the same month, Sustain.Life also announced a strategic alliance with MHP, a Porsche company specializing in IT and management consultancy, to provide its clients with access to a suite of carbon accounting solutions.

The platform was used by top companies, including InteractiveBrokers, Dame, Super73, and Mikoko’s Creamery, among others.

Funding and financials

In December 2022, the company raised USD 3 million as the second tranche of its seed funding round co-led by Global Cleantech Capital and Kompas. The first tranche of the company’s seed funding was in May 2022, when it raised USD 16 million led by Tapestry VC. Sustain.Life intends to use the funds to support team expansion, software development and customer acquisition.
