Ireland-based Imvizar is the creator of location-based AR experiences targeted at the tourism and entertainment industry. They can be accessed via its smartphone app. The app uses the smartphone's camera to create animations mixed with real-life surroundings, producing life-sized versions of historical characters and environments powered by the Unity game engine. AR experiences are available in several countries, including Ireland, the UK, Australia, and Portugal.
Imvizar also offers an experience platform, where AR app creators can upload their experiences to reach a global audience. In September 2024, the company announced plans to launch and expand Lureo, its no-code AR creation tool.
Users can purchase AR experiences through the app, with free and priced experiences ranging from USD 1 to USD 8.
