SustainCERT

Luxembourg-based SustainCERT operates as a carbon emission accounting and verification platform. The company’s software allows organizations to track, account, and report emissions across supply chains. In May 2023, SustainCERT launched the world’s first climate impact verification platform for carbon markets. This platform also provides the ability to co-claim Scope 3 emissions, between supply chain partners and other relevant entities. 

The company was founded as an independent standalone company by the Gold Standard and aligns with international frameworks including the Sustainable Development Goals and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. SustainCERT is also the co-founder of the Value Change Initiative.

Key customers and partnerships

In January 2022, the company trialed out its alpha version of its Scope 3 emissions software with General Mills, the Australian Meat and Livestock Association (MLA), and Rabobank. In June 2023 , the company paired up with Ecosystem Services Market Consortium (ESMC) to serve as the first user of SustainCERT’s market-first value chain decarbonization impact solution. In August 2023, the company partnered with Regrow, an agriculture resilience platform provider, to offer an integrated measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) solution for agricultural Scope 3 emissions.

Funding and financials 

The company’s most recent funding was in June 2023, when it raised USD 37 million in a Series B funding round led by new investors Partech and Hartree Partners as well as existing investors. The proceeds will support the company’s global expansion activities and the launch of its climate impact verification platform for Scope 3 emissions.
