Doctolib is a France-based general telehealth provider offering a B2B2C Software-as-a-Service model connecting patients with healthcare providers to schedule virtual or physical consultations. Additionally, the online and mobile platform offers features such as Doctolib Médecin, which allows for patient medical document storage and sharing, note-taking, and issuing invoices. The company is also developing an instant messaging feature to enable communication and secured document sharing between doctors and their patients; the company acquired a turnkey solution that enables end-to-end encryption called Tanker. It also has plans to expand beyond focusing on being an appointment booking platform.

The company provides its platform to be used by medical professionals and practices on a fee-per-service model starting at EUR 129 per service per month. It also offers its platform on a subscription basis. The platform is used by over 300,000 medical professionals, and 250 public hospitals, has a market presence in 30 cities across France, Germany, and Italy, as well as offices in several mid-sized European cities. The company has catered to over 60 million people from its inception.

In March 2022, the company raised EUR 500 million (USD 549 million) in an equity and debt financing round, bringing the company’s valuation to EUR 5.8 billion (USD 6.4 billion). Existing investor Eurazeo led the funding round, making Doctolib the highest valued French startup. The company will use these funds to more than double its current employees to 6,000 employees across France, Germany, and Italy over the next five years.
