Founded in 2020, Silvis Materials (Silvis) is a female-founded, Boulder-based company that manufactures bio-based emulsions to replace petroleum materials in coatings, adhesives, binders, and paints. Silvis aims to create a low-cost, sustainable, and biodegradable emulsion platform for various applications across multiple markets.

Prior to TechStars, Silvis completed Plug-and-Play (a program that connects the largest corporations with the world's best startups) in 2021, during which the company built ties with over 20 Fortune 500 companies.
In February 2023 , Silvis received a USD 255,810 small business innovation research (SBIR) Phase I grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), following a USD 150,000 Advanced Industries Award from the Colorado Department of Economic Development, to develop Renewable Cellulosic Emulsions, a biodegradable, sustainable alternative used in packaging and construction materials.
