Ulendo is a University of Michigan spin-off company founded in 2018 that specializes in advanced software solutions for manufacturing automation, particularly in 3D printing. The company's flagship product is Ulendo FBS (Filtered B Splines), a vibration compensation software that enables 3D printers to operate at higher speeds without sacrificing print quality and installing hardware modifications. Ulendo FBS works by intercepting and modifying G-CODE instructions to compensate for real-world vibrations in 3D printers with moving mechanical printheads.
Moreover, it offers Ulendo HC, a heat compensation for laser powder bed fusion printers, and Ulendo VC-R robotics, a vibration compensation software for collaborative robots. In addition to the range of software, Ulendo also provides consulting services and guidance for improving its 3D printers and collaborative robots.
In October 2023, Ulendo Technologies launched calibration-as-a-service, an automated calibration tool for FDM 3D printers.
Key customers and partnerships
In June 2022, Ulendo Technologies partnered with Flashforge, a 3D printer manufacturer to integrate FBS vibration compensation software in Flashforge’s Adventurer 4 and Creator 4 printers. The integration of Ulendo's FBS software reportedly allowed Flashforge's 3D printers to operate up to 2x faster with 10x acceleration without compromising print quality.
In November 2024, Ulendo Technologies partnered with Rev1 Technologies, CreatBot's exclusive US after-sales support provider, to offer a new software upgrade that enhances the performance of industrial 3D printers. The partnership will combine Ulendo's vibration compensation algorithm with the CreatBot F430 3D printer to allow users to increase printing speed by up to 5x without compromising quality.
