The platform uses artificial intelligence to discover, classify, assess, and protect structured and unstructured data across multiple environments including Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Database as a Service (DBaaS), and on-premises systems. The platform implements large language models to understand content context, intent, and nuance, providing detailed insights and remediation guidance for security teams. In October 2023, Cyera acquired Trail Security for USD 162 million, expanding its capabilities to include data loss prevention (DLP). The platform features automated sensitive data discovery and classification, continuous data security posture management (DSPM), real-time detection and response, data access governance, and data privacy controls. Through a lightweight connector, Cyera can scan multiple datastores in customer environments while leveraging its AI-powered data discovery and ML-based classification capabilities. The company's Identity Module, launched in July 2024, provides complete visibility into human and non-human identities that have access to sensitive data, with 95% classification accuracy. As of April 2024, the platform extends coverage across cloud services and on-premises environments, enabling organizations to secure data with minimal operational overhead and without requiring new hardware or patching.

Cyera serves several notable enterprises including United Talent Agency, Mercury Financial, and LifeLabs. In June 2023, the company announced an integration with OpenAI to accelerate multi-cloud data security and help security teams make more informed data security, privacy, and governance decisions. As stated by Mike Melo, CISO of LifeLabs, the platform provides complete insight into data managed across Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. Scott Morris, Ex-SVP, CISO of Zipari, noted that Cyera's solution helped them identify and address ghost data risks within their environment. In June 2024, the company launched a new Data Incident Response Service to help enterprises minimize the blast radius of data incidents and determine materiality of breaches.
