Goals

Goals is a Stockholm-based game development company founded in 2021 by Andreas Thorstensson, a former Counter-Strike World Champion and founder of esports team SK Gaming. As of April 2023, the company was developing a new soccer game designed to appeal to both casual fans and aspiring esports pros. The game is expected to feature standard 11v11 matches as well as a 5v5 mode called Goals: Go, where players control all in-game characters. This mode is designed to emphasize teamwork and make the game esports ready at launch. Goals claim that they are focused on making the gameplay fun, fast, and fluid rather than hyperrealistic. The game is expected to be available on consoles and PC with crossplay between platforms.

Funding and financials

In April 2023 , Goals raised USD 20 million in a Series A funding round led by Reddit Founder Alexis Ohanian’s Seven Seven Six, bringing the total funding to USD 39 million. Goals planned to use the funds to continue the development of its new soccer game and expand the team from 50 to 75 members while accelerating the production processes.
