Augmedit is an Amsterdam-based medical software company that develops AR-based tools for surgeons and offers AR workflows for clinical practices.
The company’s offerings include its proprietary softwares; 1) Lumi, which allows for converting Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) images into a 3D volumetric model, 2) LumiNE Lite, which allows for converting medical scans of a person's head into a 3D model and 3) LumiNE Elite to allow greater precision in matching generated 3D scans to the head of the patient for intra-operative procedures.
The platform is also hardware-agnostic and can be accessed through the web, mobile, and headsets (e.g. HoloLens 2). Augmedit operates a subscription-based model, and is available in the European market.
Funding and financials
In November 2022 the company raised more than EUR 1 million (~USD 1 million) in a seed funding round from Revere Partners and a consortium of Dutch and Swiss investors. At the same time it also received EUR 1.7 million (~USD 1.7 million) in non-dilutive funding through the EIC Accelerator program. The funds were to be utilized to obtain CE certification and FDA clearance for its products and to expand into new verticals (outside of neurosurgery) in both Europe and the US.
