Augmedit, an AR medical software company, has raised more than EUR 1 million (~USD 1 million) in a seed funding round from Revere Partners and a consortium of Dutch and Swiss investors. It has also received EUR 1.7 million (~USD 1.7 million) in non-dilutive funding through the EIC Accelerator program.
The funds will be used to obtain CE certification and FDA clearance for its products and to expand into new verticals (outside of neurosurgery) in both Europe and the US.
Augmedit develops AR-based tools for surgeons and offers AR workflows for clinical practices. The company’s Lumi software creates holograms from medical imaging for surgery preparation and patient education and it assists in creating treatment plans and surgical procedures (LumiNE Elite), training medical staff, and engaging and educating patients and their families. It is also hardware-agnostic and can be accessed through the web, mobile, and headsets (e.g. HoloLens 2).
Analyst QuickTake : Augmedit offers a similar solution to players such as Augmedics (offers a surgical guidance solution that allows surgeons to visualize the 3D spinal anatomy), FundamentalVR (offers software that enables remote proctoring), and Osso VR and Oxford Medical Simulation have recently raised funding.
