Founded in 2022, Loki Foods is an Iceland-based producer of plant-based seafood alternatives. It specializes in producing arctic seafood alternatives such as cod. The company aims to provide a sustainable solution to the demand for arctic food without compromising nutrition, taste, texture, or affordability. As the company’s first product, it was developing a whole-cut cod filet, which it claimed was high in proteins, vitamins, omega 3, and six fatty acids.
Funding and financials
In August 2022 , the company raised USD 650,000 in a pre-seed funding round that included the participation of Sustainable Food Ventures, Kale United, VegInvest, and Lifely VC. The funding was intended for the development of its plant-based whole-cut cod filet.
