Loki Foods, an Iceland-based producer of plant-based seafood, have raised USD 650,000 in a pre-seed funding round that included the participation of Sustainable Food Ventures, Kale United, VegInvest, and Lifely VC.
The funding is expected to be used towards the development of its plant-based whole cut cod filet which they claim is high in proteins, vitamins, and omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. The method of producing or the ingredients involved have not yet been disclosed.
Loki Foods, founded in 2022 develops plant-based seafood alternatives. The company is focussing on Atlantic white fish varieties such as cod, and aim to provide a sustainable solution to its demand.
