Travertine Technologies is a CO2 removal company and industrial chemical producer that converts ambient air into sulfuric acid for element extraction, using its proprietary electrochemical process. Travertine planned to partner with mining companies and fertilizer producers to leverage its sulfuric acid. The company also produces green hydrogen and oxygen as a byproduct and permanently stores CO2 in a solid state. Travertine is a spin-off from the University of California.
Travertine is currently testing its electrochemical technology with companies across the mining industry. Travertine is in the pilot stage. It expected to reach commercial scale by 2028 and deploy four plants by 2030.
