Passes

Founded in 2022, Passes is a creator monetization startup that facilitates connections between content creators in diverse domains, such as magic, astrology, TikTok, and music, and their audience. It offers a range of features such as live streaming, video calling, messaging with no tipping limits, and pay-per-minute one-on-one calls. The platform also provides SMS notifications and unique watermarks to prevent leaks. As of July 2023, the platform was undergoing beta testing, with active participation from 40 content creators.

Creators have multiple avenues to generate revenue, including subscriptions, tips, live streaming, and unlockable posts/DMs. The platform charges a 10% commission and an additional 30 cents per transaction from creators' earnings. Moreover, Passes encourages a community-driven approach, offering a referral program where users can earn 5% of the earnings from the creators they refer.

In a strategic move to expand its market presence, Passes acquired Fanhouse, a content-sharing social platform, in July 2023. The firm planned to adopt more flexible content guidelines compared with Fanhouse and intended to integrate a customer relationship management system into its platform.

Funding and financials

In February 2024, the company raised USD 40 million in a Series A funding round led by Bond, to scale its operations, expand its current team, and further develop its features.
