Rapid7’s Insight platform provides threat detection and response, cloud security, application security, vulnerability management, and orchestration and automation solutions. 

In July 2021, Rapid7 unveiled InsightCloudSec, a fully integrated Cloud-Native Security Platform (CNSP) that enables continuous security and compliance for multi-cloud infrastructure. InsightCloudSec combines the technologies of Rapid7’s prior acquisitions—DivvyCloud and Alcide—to provide a unified cloud security solution that includes threat detection, remediation, and automated workflows. Rapid7 has partnered with Palo Alto Networks, Splunk, FireEye, Amazon, Microsoft, Cisco, and HP to integrate its products. 

Rapid7 has been on an acquisition spree including the April 2021 purchase of Velociraptor, an open source tool that provides endpoint monitoring, digital forensics, and cybersecurity incident response solutions for an undisclosed amount. Rapid7 also acquired IntSights, an external threat intelligence platform in July 2021 to strengthen its cloud-native, extended detection and response (XDR) platform, InsightIDR, by providing an improved signal-to-noise ratio, higher-fidelity alerts for earlier threat detection, and accelerated remediation. Other acquisitions include NetFort, Logentries, Mobilisafe, Metasploit, tCell, Komand, and NTObjectives.

Rapid7 recorded 28% year-over-year growth in annual recurring revenue to USD 432.9 million and an operating loss of USD 74.1 million in 2020. The company also reported a 20% growth in its headcount during the pandemic. As of 2019, the company served more than 9,000 customers across 99 countries globally.

Rapid7 commenced trading on the Nasdaq in a July 2015 initial public offering (IPO), that raised USD 110.4 million in funding.
