Funding and financials
In March 2024, Clean Food Group secured GBP 2.5 million (~USD 3.16 million) from the Clean Growth Fund to accelerate the commercial launch of its non-GMO yeast-based palm oil alternative by 2025.
In December 2023, the company was awarded GBP 1 million (~USD 1.3 million) funding from the UK Government's Novel Low-Emission Food Production Systems: Industrial Research Grant. The funding was to help the company expand its manufacturing capabilities and develop microbial oils in collaboration with the University of Bath. Further, in August 2023, the company raised GBP 2.3 million (~USD 2.9 million) in a 'pre-Series A' funding round for the development of its sustainable oils and fats technology. The capital raised was intended to accelerate the scale-up of the company's technology platform and advance regulatory and commercial pathways.
