Artificient, a spinoff of RWTH Aachen University in Germany, specializes in developing automotive AI technology with a focus on road safety. Its mobile app, GIZO, utilizes computer vision technology to promote safer and more sustainable mobility by empowering drivers to prevent accidents, reduce carbon emissions, and lower insurance costs. In addition, Artificient offers white-label solutions, allowing insurers and businesses to customize their own branded apps. The set GIZO SDK is set to launch in Q3 2023, which will enable insurers to integrate Artificient's AI camera functions into their existing apps, providing advanced driving insights and accident prevention capabilities.
Funding and financials
In June 2023, Artificient raised ~USD 0.5 million in pre-seed funding led by Lifetime Ventures. It planned to use the funds to accelerate the launch of GIZO, in partnership with its initial batch of B2B partners across Europe and Asia. The company has also received support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology through public innovation grants.
