Republic Services has made significant investments in recycling infrastructure and technology in recent years. The company opened its first Polymer Center in Las Vegas in December 2023 to process recycled plastics into flakes and pellets for use in new products. Additional Polymer Centers are planned, including one in Indianapolis. In 2023, Republic Services processed 4.3 million tons of recyclable materials at its 74 recycling and organics facilities across North America. The company aims to increase recovery of key materials to 3.4 million tons annually by 2030. Republic Services is also expanding its organics recycling capabilities through anaerobic digestion facilities and partnerships focused on food waste diversion.
