Izuma Networks

Izuma Networks offers unified edge computing and Internet of Things (IoT) management services.

The company's edge computing offering, “Izuma Edge,” offers an Apache 2.0 licensed software stack that enables users to deploy applications and remotely manage services via Kubernetes application programming interfaces (APIs). The company’s edge IoT service (“Izuma Connect”) enables users to manage device networking and software lifecycles for microcontroller-based IoT devices.

The two solutions create an edge framework that connects to the Izuma Cloud software suite, which can run on a public cloud, customer cloud, or bare metal servers.

In October 2022, the company acquired Pelion, an IoT device management company, for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition of Pelion, a company which was spun out from Arm as an independent business unit in 2020, provided Izuma Networks with access to a software and intellectual property portfolio developed by Arm’s IoT Services Group (ISG) between 2013 to 2020.

Izuma used this acquisition to offer Pelion Device Management Client, a portable stack for connecting IoT devices, under the name “Izuma Client,” and connect it to the Izuma Cloud.

Funding and financials

In October 2022, Izuma Networks secured an undisclosed investment by SoftBank Group, which it earmarked to expand its employee base and offer IoT services, which were previously offered under Pelion with a new focus on development operations. The funds were also used to integrate Izuma Network’s edge and IoT services under one umbrella.
