Supercritical, a British carbon offset marketplace, has teamed up with MASH Makes, a Danish company that removes carbon from the atmosphere, to pre-purchase 10,000 tons of biochar-based carbon removal. Supercritical will receive the carbon credits starting from 2024. This partnership will help MASH Makes speed up two biochar-based carbon removal projects in India. MASH Makes plans to remove a total of 70,000 tons of CO2 through five Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) using pyrolysis technology by 2024. Supercritical had previously entered a similar agreement with Carbo Culture in May 2023 for 7,500 tons of CO2 removal.
