Createra

Createra is the developer of a UGC social gaming metaverse that enables creators to purchase any of the 2,500 digital lands with different rarities via OpenSea and develop metaverse experiences on the platform and mint NFTs. The platform contains three tools: Voxa, Createra’s model editor (launched in April 2022), where users can create character models, add animations to them, and create NFTs that can be sold in its NFT marketplace and Arena, Createra’s map editor (launched in August 2022), where users can generate 3D worlds with other players. In July 2022, Createra launched the NFT Worlds Exclusive Program for NFT Worlds holders, which allowed users to receive multiple Createra privileges.

Users are also able to determine whether their experiences on the platform are free to access or not. Creators can generate funds by charging a labor fee to help other players build experiences, by taking part in Play Season events, or by trading NFTs. The platform can be accessed through a browser via a PC, phone, and tablet, with crypto wallets MetaMask and Venly being supported. As of January 2024, the company planned to release project-related updates in the future such as support for external smart contract deployment and the launch of a smart wallet.

Key customers and partnerships

As of November 2022, the platform had over 2 million plays alongside 15 metaverse experiences.

Key partnerships included that with metaverse ecological service provider, Meta Estate (to build its metaverse in September 2022), Mfers, an NFT community (to create a metaverse for NFT holders in September 2022), blockchain platform Polygon, Web 3 portal Mask, Amazon Web Services, blockchain service provider Venly and 01a1, a game creation company operating within the Sandbox metaverse.

Funding and financials

In January 2023, the company raised USD 10 million in Series A financing in a round led by a16z, with the funding to be utilized for the development of Createra’s metaverse platform.
