UK-based ComplyAdvantage is a provider of AI-driven financial crime risk data and detection technology. The company uses machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) to help regulated organizations manage their risk obligations and prevent financial crimes such as money laundering, terrorist financing, and fraud. ComplyAdvantage's proprietary knowledge graph, called ComplyData, is derived from millions of data points and provides dynamic, real-time insights across sanctions, watchlists, politically exposed persons, and negative news. The company claimed that it witnessed over one billion searches across 150 million entities monitored daily in 2021.
ComplyAdvantage's solutions enable financial institutions to detect previously unknown patterns of behavior, identify new risks faster, and prioritize alerts, allowing them to focus on the highest-risk areas. The company claims that its technology is particularly effective in combating emerging threats such as the criminal use of AI for deep fakes, sophisticated cyber hacks, and the generation of malware.
The company acquired Golden, a data discovery platform, in April 2024. Through the acquisition, ComplyAdvantage aimed to gain access to additional data sources, enabling the company to expand the comprehensiveness of real-time financial crime risk insights for its clients.
