Skycart develops automated delivery drones for last-mile medical deliveries. Skycart’s patent-pending drone model, dubbed “Nimbus,” is designed to carry four separate packages in a single flight. The drones are designed using a combination of drone hardware, software, AI, a mobile application, and cloud technology. Nimbus is capable of traveling at a speed of 80 mph, covering 100 miles, carrying a maximum payload of roughly 33 lbs. The drone will be controlled by “Skycart Cumulus,” its cloud drone management service, enabling the drone to fly to predetermined GPS locations, while the “Skycart Altus” mobile application provides the user interface for Cumulus.
The company’s business model includes the outright sale of drones and a monthly usage fee of USD 599 to access the Skycart cloud platform and mobile app alongside servicing and support. Drone sales generate a profit margin of 78% for the company, while the usage fee delivers an 83% profit margin.
