PersiSKIN is a Spanish company established in the Science Park of the University of Valencia. It produces plant-based fabric using persimmons as an alternative to synthetic and animal leather. The organization utilizes 100% of the persimmon crops, including excess and waste, in the production of its vegan leather. This material is suitable for use in the textile industry.
The company works closely with AITEX—Textile Technological Institute, Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology, and the Ministry of Science and Innovation, Spain.
In February 2023 , PersiSKIN partnered with Grupo Antolin, a multinational company manufacturing interior components for the automobile industry. Through this partnership, the companies will use the waste and surplus from the production of persimmon to create a bio-based coating for the automotive sector.
