PersiSKIN, a Spanish company manufacturing textiles from plant materials, has partnered with Grupo Antolin, a multinational company manufacturing interior components for the automobile industry.
Through this partnership, the companies would use the waste and surplus from the production of persimmon to create a natural, ecological, vegan, and bio-based coating for the automotive sector. The companies believe that this sustainable solution would replace animal and synthetic coverings in future vehicles and reduce the environmental impact of agri-food activity.
Established in the Science Park of the University of Valencia, PersiSKIN is a company that produces plant-based fabric using persimmons, as an alternative to synthetic and animal leather. The organization utilizes 100% of the persimmon crops, including excess and waste, in the production of its vegan leather. This material is suitable for use in the textile industry.
