Recycap Technologies

Recycap Technologies is a Spanish company offering recycling solutions for used coffee capsules. The company offers automated end-to-end coffee capsule recycling solutions and devices. Recycap has introduced a proprietary REcycap Automated Coffee Technology (REACT) to provide aluminum capsule recycling devices for home, office, and industrial uses. It enables the removal of coffee grounds, thus allowing the aluminium capsules to be mechanically recycled.

The company launched REACT home (REACT- H), a coffee machine with integrated automated capsule recycling, with a capacity to recycle up to 600 capsules per hour, which is compatible with Nespresso and other aluminum coffee capsules. The device separates the remaining coffee from the used aluminum capsules and deposits them into two separate compartments. Then consumers can dispose of the aluminium and organic waste in their corresponding recycling containers.

Funding and financials

The company’s most recent funding round was in September 2023, when it raised EUR 155,000 (~USD 163,600) in a seed funding round led by Veos Ventures and ENISA, to accelerate the commercial production of its first two REACT coffee capsule devices (REACT-H and REACT-S). In March 2023, Recycap raised EUR 400,000 (~USD 421,100) from Veos Ventures to facilitate its product launch and develop its REACT technology.
