Hawkr is a digital platform that facilitates the sale of merchandise at live events, enhancing the accessibility, profitability, and sustainability of buying and selling apparel at live music events. Hawkr's platform is built around print-on-demand tech and direct-to-consumer sales. Artists can use the platform to design apparel, upload the final product to their virtual merchandise stand, and make it available for purchase during live shows. Fans can browse through the merchandise on their mobile devices, choose the desired size and product, and have it sent to Hawkr's print-on-demand supplier. The fulfillment and logistics processes are taken care of by Hawkr.
Hawkr offers the production of merchandise at fixed costs to artists who can then decide their selling price. Hawkr has a minimum sale price to prevent artists from making a loss per product. It also provides artists with data on fan purchases.
Key customers and partnerships
There are around 150 artists on the Hawkr platform, with some performing in more than 15 shows per month. Hawkr handled the merchandise for Millie Manders and the Shutup during a festival performance, which she co-hosted with a local radio station.
Hawkr has partnered with several organizations in the music industry, such as Marshall Amps, the Featured Artists Coalition, and Brian Eno's music eco charity Earth/Percent.
Funding and financials
In April 2023 , Hawkr secured GBP 260,000 (~USD 328,000) in a seed funding round led by Jenson Funding Partners (also backed Ascension-Q), a venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments, as well as other investors.
Hawkr intended to use the funding to advance its platform and data-driven solution, including developing innovative features and expanding its partnership network within the music industry.
