NEOGOV

NEOGOV is a human capital management platform that offers services to streamline the recruiting process, support employee development, and centralize employee data, payroll, and benefits. Furthermore, it provides a social intranet platform for internal employee communication. 

The platform is integrated with more than 40 vendors including HRIS systems (e.g. ADP, Paychex), employment testing solutions (e.g. Test Genius, eSkill), and ERP providers (e.g. SAP, Oracle). The software is designated for the public sector workforce, including local governments and educational institutions. Further, NEOGOV launched Attract (September 2022), a candidate relationship manager (CRM) designed to source, engage, and recruit top talent for public sector HR.

The company previously merged with cloud-based compliance software provider PowerDMS (2020), to expand its product offerings.

Key customers and partnerships

As of April 2024, the company served over 6,000 institutions, with notable customers utilizing the platform including the City of Dallas, Alabama State University and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, among others.

In August 2023, the company partnered with hiring solutions firm Cangrade to integrate its candidate success and retention prediction tools into NEOGOV's HR management system.

The company also undertook a series of partnerships in 2017-2018 related to background check solutions, given regulatory and compliance requirements for public sector employers. This included partnerships with Choice Screening, AccuSource, Alliance 2020 and Employment Screening Resources.  

Funding and financials

In June 2021, the company announced that it received a significant investment from The Carlyle Group (a global investment firm) and existing investor Warburg Pincus (a global growth investor). The terms of the investment were not disclosed. The new capital will be funneled toward exploring organic and inorganic growth opportunities. This includes investing in its go-to-market teams, expanding its product portfolio, and entering new markets.
