Muir AI is a carbon intelligence company spun out from Madrona Venture Labs’ accelerator that focuses on analyzing Scope 3 emissions across various industries and customer types. The company provides carbon analytics as a web platform and an API integration driven by AI and machine learning (ML). It enables data fusion through supply chain modeling, geospatial data, industry reports, and proprietary databases. Furthermore, Muir’s platform considers country-level processing standards and upstream supply chain sourcing to provide granular emissions insights.

Muir measures product emissions by material level using procurement data and leveraging global sources of trade models. Muir also offers carbon risk scores that evaluate the customers’ supply chains against industry benchmarks with factors such as regulatory environment and compliance taken into consideration. In addition, the company’s Carbon Origin delivers a “Carbon Impact Potential” rating, an evaluation metric developed by Muir, which provides the emissions reduction potential for a specific supplier or product line compared with the other products and services under evaluation.

Funding and financials

The company’s latest funding round was in October 2023, when it raised USD 3.3 million in a seed funding round led by Base10 Partners. The funds were used to develop Muir AI's software solution for estimating and reducing Scope 3 emissions.
