Flexe

Flexe provides an on-demand warehousing solution that connects retailers and brands to a network of warehousing, distribution, and fulfillment centers, transportation, and parcel carriers. Flexe has a network of distribution and fulfillment locations across North America, which is available for Flexe’s customers on an on-demand basis. Flexe’s offering is backed by its technology platform, which enables services such as order placement, order and inventory management, fulfillment, and transportation.

Key customers and partnerships

Flexe’s customer base included six of the 10 largest US retailers and four of the five largest consumer packaged goods companies as of July 2022. Its customers include Johnston Logistics, Ace Hardware, Great Jones, Aterian, and Lull. 

Flexe’s warehouse and logistics partner network includes DeFili Solutions, Mantoria, and Innovel. Flexe’s platform also has integrations with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify and offers an integration with Google Merchant Center.

Funding and financials

In July 2022, Flexe raised USD 119 million in a Series D funding round led by BlackRock. The round valued the company at over USD 1 billion. The company intended to use the funds to expand the adoption of its logistics programs. 

The company layed off staff in January 2024 (99 employees), and in September 2023 (about 131 employees; 33% of staff), citing the freight industry slowdown.
