Mino Games

Based in Canada, Mino Games is a developer of character-driven free-to-play games that leverages blockchain technology. However, earlier games developed by the company did not include blockchain elements. Mino Games develops games for the mobile platform.

Its first blockchain-based game is called Dimensionals, which was released as an Alpha version in June 2023. Dimensionals is a character-driven RPG (role-playing game) in which players must assemble an army of unique heroes in order to defend the multiverse. Players can explore new realities, recruit new heroes and battle foes, and compete for precious collector items by teaming up with other players. The game uses AI to power unique, unscripted character interactions and real-time shareable mods. In addition, it will be a cross-platform game available on desktop, mobile, and consoles.

Other games developed by the company include MinoMonsters, a pokemon-esque game, and Dog Game and Cat Game, which are about collecting pets and taking part in special events and contests.

Mino Games reported that its games had garnered over 60 million downloads across 90 countries as of February 2023.

Funding and financials

The company raised USD 15 million in a Series B funding round led by Standard Crypto in February 2023. It had earmarked the fresh funds to accelerate the launch of Dimensionals (its first blockchain-based game), fuel global growth, and expand its headcount of 80 plus employees by 50% by the end of 2023.
