Mighty is a technology company focused on improving the personal injury legal system for accident victims. It provides software and services to streamline processes for personal injury law firms and their clients. Mighty's core offering is a digital platform that facilitates seamless communication and exchange of information between law firms, clients, and third parties like medical providers.
The company was founded in 2015 with the mission of helping vulnerable people after accidents who often struggle to navigate the legal system on their own. Over the years, Mighty realized that despite bringing efficiencies through technology, personal injury firms did not pass on any of the resulting cost savings to their clients. In 2022, it pivoted its business model to directly compete with traditional personal injury firms through a new dual-entity structure.
Under this model, Mighty provides technology, marketing, and support services to an independently-owned partner law firm called Mighty Law. Mighty Law's attorneys must follow a code of conduct that includes charging lower contingency fees (30% for pre-lawsuit cases instead of the standard 33%), making strict disclosures for transparency, allowing clients a 60-day trial period, and working with Mighty to support the client's holistic recovery journey beyond just legal assistance.
Mighty does not have an ownership stake in Mighty Law but has contractually bound the firm to its operational philosophy. It compensates Mighty Law for any services provided to clients at no additional cost to them. Further, Mighty shares 10% of certain case costs like expert witnesses back with clients, incentivizing efficient spending.
