Readyverse Studios was created in partnership with Web3 firm Futureverse and Ready Player One author Ernest Cline. As of March 2024, the company was in the process of developing “Open,” a third-person battle royale experience on PC. Players will compete against each other in game-show-styled, multi-round collaborative modes in a Ready Player One biome inspired by the novel.
The company claims that Open is the “first AAA quality metaverse experience interoperable with AAA IP that leverages Web3 technology.” The experience was developed by video game company Walker using the Unreal Engine 5 game engine. Further, Readyverse Studios seeks to provide users with tools to create interactive experiences on its platform.
In May 2024, the company showcased GenAI content creation features and other updates in its videogame trailer. Key updates showcased in the trailer included utilizing GenAI to create metaverse environments, 3D assets, and music, customizing 3D avatars, trading wearables and accessories, and partaking in experiences with other players.
Other experiences being developed by the company include "The Hunt," where players complete quests for digital and physical rewards, developed across various platforms.
