Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ: CMCSA) is one of the largest listed companies in the world, with operations across the cable communications, media, and entertainment spheres. The company was founded in 1963 as American Cable Systems and renamed “Comcast Corporation” in 1969. The company reported a total revenue of USD 121.6 billion in 2023.  

Comcast's reporting segments are Residential Connectivity & Platforms, Business Services Connectivity, Media, Studios, Theme Parks, and Headquarters & Other. Residential Connectivity & Platforms is the largest segment (~57% of total revenue in 2023), providing broadband, video, and voice services to customers in the US through the Xfinity brand. The Media segment (~20% of total revenue in 2023) consists of TV and streaming platforms, under the following brands: NBC, Telemundo, and Universal Pictures. NBCUniversal’s television and film production and distribution services fall under the Studios segment (9% of total revenue in 2023). The Theme Parks segment (7% of total revenue in 2023) operates Universal Studios theme parks in Orlando, Hollywood, Japan, Singapore, and Beijing. 

Comcast is largely present in the US, which accounted for ~78% of total revenue in 2023. Through its subsidiary, Sky, Comcast has expanded into the UK and other European markets such as Ireland, Germany, Austria, and Italy. The company has reached the Asia-Pacific region through the international division of its subsidiary, NBCUniversal. The company aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
