UrbanLink Air Mobility is a South Florida-based advanced air mobility (AAM) operator. As of September 2024, the company aimed to integrate electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft into its fleet, positioning itself as the first US airline to do so. UrbanLink's primary focus is providing eVTOL flights in South Florida, Los Angeles, and Southern California, with plans for additional destinations.
As of June 2024, the company planned to begin eVTOL services in 2026, subject to approvals from the Federal Aviation Administration and the US Department of Transport. UrbanLink planned to offer a range of flight services, including scheduled routes, on-demand charter services, medical evacuation services, and private label services for corporations.
UrbanLink was also developing an AI operating system called “Thayer A.I.” as of 2024, to optimize aircraft and crew positioning, forecast surge demand, and provide real-time pricing and scheduling changes. The company aimed to create smarter, efficient, and carbon-free transportation systems that enhance connectivity and sustainability in its markets.
Key customers and partnerships
To support its air mobility operations, UrbanLink Air Mobility had collaborated with vertiport developers to establish the necessary infrastructure for eVTOL operations. UrbanLink partnered with Ferrovial Vertiports in June 2024 and Skyway Technologies in July 2024 to explore and develop vertiport sites in key US and Caribbean markets. These vertiports would serve as hubs for the take-off, landing, and recharging of eVTOL aircraft.
In May 2024, the company announced a partnership with Lilium, committing to purchase 20 Lilium Jets with scheduled pre-delivery payments and advance the implementation of eVTOL across South Florida. In October 2024, UrbanLink partnered with Eviation Aircraft to receive up to 20 Alice zero-emission electric commuter airplanes to support its goals of offering eco-friendly air travel.
