Swyft Inc provides a retail automation platform that captures consumer data, then uses AI and machine learning to automate processes, provide insights, and make predictive decisions. The company provides automated retail store hardware such as grab-and-go cabinets, secure robotics, and secure lockers, as well as a smart cloud software platform that centrally administers and manages Swyft Stores, service partners, and walk-by experiences.
Swyft’s line of grab-and-go cabinets are powered by computer vision technology and sensors and come equipped with a touchscreen display. The cabinets are also built with inventory measurement systems.
In March 2021, Swyft launched its patented technology for contactless shopping that enables customers to be equipped with Swyft technology to make purchases via mobile device. The Swyft platform functions as a repository that connects brand partner websites and allows the customer or courier to place a reservation on products. The buyer may pursue to contactlessly collect the product i.e. buy online or in store pickup.
As a part of its expansion strategy, Swyft in November 2017 acquired ZoomSystems, a similar company with more than 900 automated retail shops across North America and Europe at the time of acquisition. In July 2018, it acquired Utique, an automated retail technology provider.
Key customers and partnerships
Swyft offers Swyft’s Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) partnerships to help generate revenue for existing businesses that operate in airports. In response to the pandemic, Swyft also collaborated with digital health company Wellness 4 Humanity since 2020 to deploy vending machines dispensing COVID-19 test kits across airports and other locations. In August 2020, the company partnered with the MTA, largest public transit authority in the US, to launch 10 unattended automated personal protective equipment stores named “Simply PPE” in select subway stations in New York. In August 2021, Swyft announced plans to launch contactless stores at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. In August 2023, Swyft partnered with retailer Dollar Tree to deploy robotic cabinets at Dollar Tree stores.
