BandLab Technologies (BandLab), a part of the digital division of Caldecott Music Group (CMG), is the Singapore-based developer of a social music app that enables users to create, collaborate in real time, publish, and sell music albums and singles directly, offer monthly paid subscriptions as well as receive tips from followers. BandLab also offers royalty-free loops and samples, professional audio mastering tools, an AI-powered music idea generator, livestreaming capability, and music-learning tools. As of October 2022, the platform did not charge any fees or commissions and was used by over 50 million creators worldwide.
In February 2023 , Bandlabs acquired beat marketplace, Airbit, with the company planning to integrate Airbit's features into its creator platform, such as the addition of its free DAW and AI-powered musical idea generator, SongStarter.
The company acquired Cakewalk, the developer behind the digital audio workstation (DAW) Sonar, in February 2018. After the acquisition, Sonar was renamed Cakewalk by BandLab, a free music production package that enables users to compose, record, edit, mix, master, and share tracks. Further, in November 2021, BandLab acquired ReverbNation, a digital music distribution platform that also offers career management and online marketing tools for independent artists. As per the deal, ReverbNation was expected to operate independently and its features to be integrated into BandLab’s creator capabilities.
