INSHUR provides digital insurance solutions to the commercial auto industry, which includes rideshare, food delivery, and fleets across the US, the UK, and the Netherlands. It also provides insurance for TLC (Taxi & Limousine Commission) in the US and private hire drivers. The company enables drivers to receive personalized quotes and coverage in minutes with no commission fees or extra sales charges.
Within the rideshare segment, the company mainly caters to self-employed individuals and offers private hire insurance to this segment. INSHUR also offers flexible insurance plans between seven and 90 days for private hire drivers. The company also has a partnership with Uber, through which the platform sends Uber drivers’ policy documents directly to Uber when an insurance policy is purchased. Uber drivers’ quotes are calculated based on their driving score and Uber Pro status.
The company acquired American Business Insurance Services (ABI) , a commercial transportation insurance provider, for an undisclosed amount in April 2023 as part of its growth strategy to expand and scale its operations in the US.
Funding and financials
In April 2023, INSHUR raised USD 26 million in a venture funding round from JVP, Munich Re Ventures, Viola Fintech, and MTech Capital. Along with the raise it announced the acquisition of ABI.
