Founded in 2015 by Kevin Cornish, Moth+Flame develops immersive training technology using virtual reality (VR) for the private and public sectors. The company’s proprietary SaaS training platforms—READY VR and PromiseVR—offer adaptive learning programs for hard and soft skills, respectively. The AI and natural language processing-powered platforms combine content creation tools with a virtual learning platform on a subscription basis. Moth+Flame’s customers include the United States Air Force (READY VR), Netflix, Accenture, IMAX, Estee Lauder Companies, Google, Oculus, AMC, Discovery, MTV, AT&T, Ram Truck, AMD, and Taylor Swift. The company also partnered with the National Urban League, a US-based civil rights organization, in October 2021 to develop VR-based diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) workforce training programs.
In June 2021, the company raised USD 2.5 million in a seed funding round to scale operations in response to the growing demand for immersive training using VR technology in the workplace, and to hire key sales and development personnel. This was the company’s first external funding round after bootstrapping operations for its first six years.
