Based in Slovenia, Trapview offers an automated insect and pest-management platform that informs farmers about the pest situation within the farm in real-time using automated traps. The company uses AI and IoT to process data collected from traps placed around the farm to provide forecasts and developments of pest dynamics around the area. The company claims that the platform can monitor over 60 insect species and reduce pesticide usage and production costs by improving farmer decision-making via timely and informed crop protection decisions.
As of November 2022, Trapview was used in more than 40 countries, including Brazil, US, Italy, and Spain, and on multiple crops such as tomatoes, vines, and leafy greens. The company claims that it owns the largest database of pest data and predictive algorithms and has supported the production of more than 18 million tons of food, saved over EUR 210 million in costs for growers, and reduced more than 16,000 tons of carbon emissions.
In September 2022, the company raised EUR 10 million in Series B funding led by the European Circular Bioeconomy Fund (ECBF) to accelerate development efforts in Brazil, the US, and Europe.
