Based in France, Sencrop provides weather monitoring, pest and disease forecasting, and irrigation management services via its subscription-based mobile app. The company collects data on rain, wind, leaf wetness, and solar radiation from its portfolio of IoT-based connected hardware sensors, which is then evaluated by agronomic models and integrated decision support tools. Via the app, the company helps farmers to make informed decisions on areas such as irrigation, spraying, and disease prevention and provides alerts and recommendations to farmers upto 7 days in advance.
As of June 2022, Sencrop had served 20,000 customers, which include farmers, winegrowers, and fruit growers across 20 countries including France, Germany, Italy, the UK, and the Netherlands.
In January 2020, Sencrop acquired France-based weather and irrigation solutions provider Visio-Green Agriculture. The acquisition increased Sencrop’s weather station network from 9,500 stations to 11,300 stations across Europe as well as provided access to Visio-Green’s customer base, which included cooperatives, agribusinesses, and agricultural unions.
In May 2022 , the company raised USD 18 million in Series B funding led by Jerusalem Venture Partners (JVP). The funds were expected to be for local and overseas expansion efforts.
