Carpe Data is a data analytics startup which provides analytics using social media, online content, and other forms of alternative data to insurers. The company has targeted this product mainly towards commercial insurers to evaluate risk profiles of potential policy holders. In 2019, Carpe Data launched the ClaimsX platform which leverages a combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and alternative data sources to validate claim applications in real time and automate the claims process. The company has partnerships with insurers such as Allstate, Zurich, and Hannover for its platform. As of November 2020, the company reports having processed more than 5 million claimants on behalf of its clients, and serves more than 40 insurance carriers across the US, Canada, and the UK.

In March 2020, the company raised USD 7.1 million as an extension to its Series B funding round, which raised USD 10.1 million in June 2019.
