Sichuan Revotek is a Chinese biotechnology company based in Chengdu that specializes in 3D bioprinting of vascular structures. The company has developed a proprietary 3D bioprinter specifically designed for printing blood vessels using a customized bio-ink called "Biosynsphere" derived from stem cells acquired from fat tissue.
In 2016, Revotek successfully transplanted 3D-printed blood vessels into rhesus monkeys, replacing a 2-centimeter section of the abdominal artery. Post-surgical observation after a few months showed complete integration of the printed vessels with the preexisting vasculature. The Biosynsphere bio-ink's ability to develop collagen was a major breakthrough, enabling the printed blood vessels to remain patent and viable.
Revotek's cloud-based bioprinter utilizes advanced techniques to precisely print intricate vascular networks with high resolution. The company has raised USD 33 million in funding from private investors to further its innovative work in vascular bioprinting.
