 Ireland-based waste-to-energy firm, Eqtec, and gas-to-liquids tech firm, CompactGTL, have created a 50:50 joint venture (JV). The JV aims to integrate both companies' technology to produce a waste-to-liquid fuel solution, with sustainable aviation fuel as a key output. The partnership intends to establish a consortium of investors to fund a GBP 60 million (~USD 76 million) commercial-scale reference plant. The plant should generate approximately 11,700 litres/day of sustainable aviation fuel, 8,650 litres/day of diesel, and 5,000 litres/day of naphtha, by processing 150 tons/day of refuse-derived fuel from municipal solid waste.
