Team Vitality is a French esports organization that fields teams for 10 esports titles such as Counter-Strike , Fortnite, and FIFA . The team has sponsorships with endemic brands such as Orange (French internet service provider), Quersus (gaming chair manufacturer), and gaming peripherals manufacturers SCUF Gaming and Corsair, as well as non-endemic brands such as Adidas, Renault, and fitness equipment company Incept. The team has amassed total prize winnings of USD 4.7 million as of January 2022, with a larger share being accounted for by its success with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive , accounting for approximately 47% of total prize winnings.
In October 2020, the team announced that it has commenced plans to expand into the Indian market. Furthermore, in December 2020, the team announced that it had set up base operations in Mumbai. In an attempt to build a following and raise its profile, the team signed multiple local content creators who have a combined YouTube following of more than 10 million subscribers. In March 2021, Team Vitality announced its first all-Indian Call of Duty Mobile roster followed by the hiring of Adidas France managing director Guillaume de Monplanet as its new managing director and co-CEO. It also entered Garena Free Fire and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), which is the Indian version of PUBG Mobile, in January 2022.
In May 2024, the company acquired Bigetron Era, the women's division of Indonesian esports organization Bigetron Esports, allowing Team Vitality to enter the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) scene.
Key customers and partnerships
In June 2023, the company entered a two-year partnership with Hyundai Motor Corporation's subsidiary, KIA, aiming to produce a range of content under the campaign, The Lane of Movement, primarily targeting League of Legends fans. KIA will also serve as the official supplier for Team Vitality's LFL and LEC rosters, although specifics about the content series have not been disclosed. Additionally, in February 2023, the organization collaborated with supermarket chain ALDI to establish a women's team.
Previously, the team announced a tie-up with global sportswear brand Adidas to launch a semi-pro esports team in January 2022. The two brands have previously collaborated on footwear and esports apparel. The new deal is part of a larger five-year deal between the two brands.
Funding and financials
Its most recent round of funding of EUR 50 million (approx. USD 42 million) from esports venture fund Rewired.gg was announced in January 2022 . This follows prior investments totaling EUR 34 million (approx. USD 39 million) dating back to 2019 and 2018. The investment, which will be distributed over three years, will be allocated for talent development as part of Vitality’s broader strategy to develop “European super teams”.
