Stellar Cyber (formerly known as Accaella Technology) offers an open detection and response (Open XDR) platform which uses a proactive approach to detect cyber security breaches, to reduce threat detection and response time of enterprises and managed service providers (network, SIEM, IT, Internet and cloud security). The company leverages supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms to detect advanced threats such as account takeovers. The company claims that its artificial intelligence solution improves mean time to detect (MTTD) by more than 8 times and mean time to recovery (MTTR) by more than 20 times.

Stellar Cyber introduced IoT and operational technology (OT) protection capabilities to its Open XDR platform, allowing businesses to use the same license and platform to protect both their IT and OT environments, offering an advantage in neutralizing attackers moving between networks.

Key customers and partnerships 

Stellar Cyber partnered with Netskope, a cloud security startup in December 2022, to provide a joint solution that incorporates rich user-centric data to improve control and visibility of risks and threats across incident investigations conducted by Security Operation Center (SOC) analysts.

Deeptree, a managed security services provider (MSSP), incorporated Stellar Cyber’s security operations into its managed detection and response (MDR) offering, to scale its own cybersecurity operations in 2020.

Funding and financials 

In October 2019, the company raised USD 7.1 million in an additional Series A funding round from Susquehanna International Group. The proceeds were used to expand its research and development, sales and marketing teams and make new partnerships and to scale its global distribution capabilities.
