France-based Quandela develops photonic qubit sources for quantum computers developed with a photonic approach, secure quantum networks, and quantum sensors. The company’s technology is based on semiconductor-based photonic qubit generators able to generate a large number of photons. Its lead product is Prometheus, a standalone quantum dot-based single-photon source device that also has a qubit control unit launched in January 2021. The company’s flagship platform, MOSAIQ, is a modular, reconfigurable, interconnected, and scalable quantum computing platform that supports prototyping, testing, and development of algorithms.
Founded in 2017 as a spin-off from the French national laboratory, the Centre of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, the company has two sites for research and manufacturing purposes, which are based at the University of Paris-Saclay.
Key customers and partnerships
The company entered into an agreement with Exaion in November 2023, to expand access to quantum computing technology across North America and Europe. Quandela also partnered with Électricité de France (EDF) in November 2022 to explore quantum computing for simulating hydroelectric dam structures.
